Influenster Sunkissed VoxBox June 2013

So a while ago, I signed up for Influenster. I kind of forgot about it for a long time, until I got an email for a survey for the Sunkissed VoxBox. I, of course, jumped at the chance to take the survey, and I finally got it in the mail today.

So what was in it?

These are all full size products:

Dr. Scholl's For Her: High Heel Insoles

I don't normally wear heels, but I do have a pair or two that I can maybe try these with. These feel really nice.

Olay Fresh Effects {BB Cream!} Skin Perfecting Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 15

Okay, I've only tried a BB Cream once, and I was allergic. This is 2.5 FL oz (or 75 mL), and it's in Fair to Light. First impressions are, yep, that's tinted. And WOW, that smells amazing. Seriously, my face smells great. The thing about BB Creams, though, is that they're not very heavy coverage at all.So while this isn't necessarily covering my blemishes, it is giving me some SPF 15, and does even things out a little.  This does not smell like normal sunscreen at all.

From the package:
No oil or PABA. Just the good stuff.
B.B. Cream, also known as beauty balm, is one of Asia's hottest beauty sensations. Its mult-tasking formula works to moisturize, brighten and help protect skin from harmful UV rays. This silky, tinted lotion blends effortlessly with your natural skin tone, helping hide imperfections and minimizing the need for concealer and foundation. With just one use, skin will be left glowing and naturally even.

SinfulShine with Gel Tech

Okay, Sinful Shine is a Walgreens exclusive line, from Sinful Colors, which is NOT Walgreens exclusive. Normally, Sinful Colors are $1.99, sometimes you can get them for like $1, though. SinfulShine retails for $2.99, and they have 32 colors and apparently "are available for a limited time exclusively at Walgreens". I'm not sure if this means they will discontinue the line, or if they will open availability elsewhere. A bottle is 0.5 fl oz, or 15 mL. Product is made in USA!

My shade is a red, and it's called Devious. As per my usual custom with a new nail polish, I painted a swatch on a nail wheel. Wow, it's a great red, though not very unique in color. The uniqueness of this line is supposed to be in the finish of the polish. In the swatch, I can definitely see how it's a lot shinier finish than a normal creme Sinful Colors. In fact, I'd say it's as shiny of a finish as my Seche Vite. However, I really don't see the appeal for it, because I usually finish off my manicures with a topcoat like inm's Out the Door, or Seche Vite. So, all in all, I don't think I'll go out of my way to find more of these, as they're not available at my local Walgreens, but if I do see them and see a shade I don't have in a different bottle, then yes, I'll definitely pick one up. I see a few on the card that I'd really like to have!

Goody Ouchless Riboon Elastics

I'm a little torn on these as a whole. I've made some myself, and honestly, they're really easy, and really cheap to make. That being said, whenever I DO buy hair ties, they usually are Goody brand, because honestly, they're cost effective and great quality. These are no exception to that, and they come in a pack of 5. These have a great stiff elastic feel to them. This means they aren't too loose, and should hold hair pretty well. I twisted it once to get it to hold my hair and it seems to be working fantastically.

Disclaimer: I received these products complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster.

An Introduction

I've been meaning to do this for a long time, so I think I'll start this on who I am, and why I'm posting a blog.

My name is Sarah, and I'm 24 years old. I'm a college student... and I've changed majors a couple of times. I'm currently studying to get an Associate's degree in wide area networking. What does that mean? Well, it means I'm studying how computers connect with each other, and the internet, and all sorts of crazy things. I'm about halfway done, so I guess I need to figure out what to do afterward! Certifications are a huge thing in this field, and they are daunting. They cost a lot and you might FAIL. Where will you be then? You'll have taken this big huge test, paid for it... and not have a thing to show for it.

Getting away from that...

I love nail polish. I didn't discover that I did until, I guess, August/September 2012. I've been a lacquerista for less than a year now and I have a HUGE collection. I'm talking about having more than 300 bottles of nail polish. If that seems crazy to you.... Well, I know someone with over a thousand. I wouldn't say that I'm particularly great at painting my nails (particularly my right hand), but I've been practicing and I'm really proud of myself sometimes!

Recently, I've been discovering makeup. Before this year, I never wore it, never saw the point of it. I really, really could have used it back in high school. I'm definitely NOT good at it yet, but I'm watching tutorials and someday I will master eyeliner and contouring!

I love beauty boxes. They're like these subscription boxes that you get in the mail, usually once a month. I'm currently doing ipsy and birchbox. I also have an influenster account and I'm actually getting a box soon! I think I'll start doing unboxings here.

So, I guess that's it. I've finally taken the plunge into posting a blog.

Hello world.
